Cell Phone Donation Request From DV Families
Posted on 11/27/2018
Da Vinci Science 7 will be launching a new project this year that takes advantage of new innovations in virtual reality. Students will create a VR tour of different locations around the United States that highlight evidence of tectonic activity for their geology project.

To make this project a reality, we need your help. Our boosters organization recently purchased 20 google cardboard VR headsets for the class, and we are looking for donations of old cell phones or mp3 players to power these viewers. The VR software is compatible with almost any phone released since 2015. It will work with any phone running Android 4.1 or higher, or iOS 8.0 or higher (iphone 4S or newer), and it supports larger phones with screens sizes from 4 to 6 inches. Many mp3 players with touchscreens also work. I have included a partial list below, but the easiest way to find out if your device is compatible is to google the question “is the _______ compatible with google cardboard?”.

It is helpful if the phones are reset to factory settings with all user information removed. It is also very helpful if they are able to provide a charger for the phone as well. The phones can be dropped off at the Jr. High office anytime.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sean Glantz (sglantz@djusd.net). Thank you for all that you do to support our school!
